Delta 737 Just Sitting

Sat Dec 02, 2000 10:42 pm

This summer while spotting at KBOS I saw something that caught my eye. Runway 22L and 27R run parralell with each other. It was twoards the evening and things were getting busy. A Delta Express 737-200 taxied across 27R between the two runways, he then sat there for atleast 25 minutes. During this time there were plenty opertunitys for him to take off. While all the other Aircraft were departing on 27R and ariving on 33L (on the other side of the airport.) Why did the Delta Express 732 sit there for so long?

He probably had a bad slot, or he just missed it and was waiting for a new one.

Sincerly, Benjamin!

All flights have a "wheels up time" assigned by ATC. The aircraft has to depart at this time (or in this slot). If it's delayed, it has to get a new slot or "wheels up time". Thus, this aircraft was most likely waiting for it's slot so it could depart. I saw this occur at SFO.
