B747-400 Cargo Information

Mon Dec 04, 2000 5:42 pm

Hi there, I was wondering if any of the cargo handlers out there would be able to help me with the weights of the LD-1 containers as used on the 747, and also the approximate fuselage stations of the forward and aft cargo pits, along with approx floor area and weight limits.

Thanks in advance

hi wilky,

do not know so much about the ld-1, but check the jl site for weight limitations on the various positions (they're pretty good):

Compartment Weight Limits

Tue Dec 05, 2000 10:00 pm

Sorry forgot to include the compartment limits you asked for.

F1: 7,832KG
F2: 12,412KG
F3: 8,112KG
F4: 10,816KG
BULK: 5,357KG

It is interesting to note that F1 and A1 have only 2 pallet positions and it is very easy to max out those compartments with heavy pallets. You can never load two max weight pallets in either of those compartments.
