Orlando Gate Operations

Sun Dec 17, 2000 6:27 am

I just returned from a trip that brought me through Orlando International Airport, On that stop i noted a few things. Southwest Airlines has relocated to a newly constructed airside from their old location at gates 1-9. And that area that serves 1-9 needs alot of help. The only airline that seems to be in this area was Continental. And to give Continental some credit it seems that they have installed some new check in desks and are just now aquring the gate 7R, i also noticed that 7L, is no longer, if you were to walk out the door marked 7L, you would fall out onto the ground, is it that easy to just move a jetway? and have you been to this area lately, do you know what i'm talking about? what did you think? it seems like the one hole side of the terminal is abanded. Would Continental pump the money into this area to renovate it? Gates 1, 3, and 5 are un-occupied, and a food service area inside the gate area is now borded up, you may have a nice experience if you visit orlandos new terminal that serves southwest and spirit, and the delta wing that is also nicely kept, but head over to the TWA, and Continental area and its a different story.
Never be afraid to stand up for who you are.

Ya, I noticed that to. I think Continental should go ahead and purchase the remaining gates and put more flights into MCO, and also open up new routes from MCO.
