I've read something about 14000l / hour with a density of 0.8 kg/l (roughly) it makes 2.8 metric tons per hour and per engine, in US pounds thats little more than 6000 pounds per hour and engine...very roughly

When my dad flew the -200 for NWA, he figured up the miles per gallon on the plane at cruise. The plane gets something like 300 yards to the gallon. Pretty funny.

Stroud describes a trip on a BA 744 from LHR to YVR-- they started out burning 12000 kg/hr at FL310 and were down to 8000 kg/hr at FL390 toward the end. This seems to be typical for long flights-- a decrease of around a third as the plane lightens and they climb higher.
