What Is A Dorsal Fin?

Thu Mar 15, 2001 9:51 pm

I know I've heard it once before but can't remember what it exactly is so if anyone could tell me please what it is and what it is used for.

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,
GR.

The dorsal fin is the part on front of the tail reaching forward. It is used on some aircraft for aerodynamical reasons, and on some to house antennae.
