Trailing Edge Wedge

Sun Apr 08, 2001 4:26 am

I've read of the "trailing edge wedge" in connection with fuel economy on 747s and MD11s. What is it, what form does it take, what benefits accrue and on which types has it been used? Is it visible to the casual observer?
