Looks like a scary way to tow a 757? I sure dont want to be on it. Where did the drawing come from? I saw Delta on the bottom..JT

Looks like someone making fun of Deltas growing collection of 757 "gliders".

Would you tow an airplane in flight? I.E. for transporting an A/C to be retrofited or put into storage?

No date or drawing number. Is it an authentic drawing.

If it is; I would guess its some kind of recovery rig for some remote location where something went real bad. This would not of course be used to fly the airplane, but to recover/reposition it for repair or dis-assembly. Note that the drawing says B757 without engines installed.

well, coming from my site, I had better clear this one up.

242 is on the money. Delta is having problems keeping engines their 757's.

The gliders look strange sitting on the ramp, but I assure you all that Delta has yet to resort to such cost cutting measures and they will continue to sit on the ramp!

I just can't believe a few of these posts...

TWA has started a 757 "Soar Plane Fleet" also.
