328JET Vs Do328 Costs

Thu Jul 26, 2001 4:46 am

Does someone know how the costs (seatmile, aquisition, leasing, maintenance,...) of the Fairchild-Dornier 328JET compare to the Fairchild-dornier 328 turboprop?

Thanks for any help

Well, I don't know exact numbers, but I would say that over short routes like for example, LGA-SYR, the Do328 would be more economical, but for longer flights, the 328jet would be more practical. Although, most airlines today are buying RJs over turboprops just because of the fact passanger prefence is for RJs.

328Jet: $1070 Hr.
328: $1188 Hr.

Better utilization due to higher speed offsets fuel cost.
