Rain Erosion And Speed Tape

Mon Sep 03, 2001 12:15 pm

Can someone please explain 'rain erosion.' Is water really that abrasive that it can actually erode the leading edges of wings and such? I've seen write ups on a/c at work for erosion speed tape peeling away...etc. Does anyone have any insight to this? Thanks in advance!

water and air have particles of dirt in them ,hence you get friction ,that is what causes erosion
