What's The Difference Between These Majors?

Thu Sep 13, 2001 6:43 pm

*Aerospace Engineering
*Mechanical Engineering w/aerospace minor
*Structural Engineering w/aerospace minor

Last week, I had a worthless argument with someone I thought was a friend. He kept telling me that Aerospace Engineers are (if not already) extinct, he happens to be majoring in M.E., and tried to convert me.

He was uncharacteristically ignorant about the avaition industry as a whole, refused to listen to my arguement saying that:

"Boeing hires M.E.'s first, then C.S.E.'s and A.E's are 5th place."

Is this true and what future am I looking at if I remain in A.E.?

The meaning of life is curiosity; we were put on this planet to explore opportunities.
