A319 Range/ Etops Destinations?

Wed Feb 27, 2002 10:05 am

What is the range of the A319? Will airlines want to get ETOPS certification for it? I heard somewhere on A.net that Canada 3000 was planning to fly the A319 between Eastern Canada and regional British airports. Could the A319 feasibly fly between East coast USA and Hawaii?

Skyservice Airlines (not Canada 3000, who went out of business last fall) plans to operate their single A319 from YHZ and YYT to LGW. Off the top of my head, the A319 has a range of somewhere around 6700km. Both YHZ-LGW and YYT-LGW are much shorter than that, YHZ-LGW is about 4500km, YYT-LGW is about 4000km, shorter than YYT-YVR.  Smile

East coast USA to Hawaii? No. That would be in the 7000-8000km range. West coast to Hawaii should be no problem, as other airlines operate 737's on those routes, I believe.

Hi!
Tha maximum range of the Airbus A319 is 3360 nm.
This range depends from a lot variables such as speed, weight, passengers and wind.
Having 3000 nm of range the Airbus A319 will be able to reach UK from Canada, but i don't know if the Airbus A319 has the Etops certification.

Flights from Atlantic Canada (NS, Nfld. etc.) to the UK are less than 2500nm. The A319's max range in nm is 3700.
