Reverser Deployment Mecanisam

Mon Mar 18, 2002 11:27 pm

What moves the cowling back on reverse thrust deployment? Is it moved by hydraulic rams, pneumatic pistons or is it on a screw jack (like flaps)?

Usually engines using Hyd TRs (RB211s used on 757s or CFMs used on 737s) use actuators while those using pneumatic TRs (Cf6s used on 767s, Dc10s) use Jackscrews driven by Flex Shafts.
