I recently read about production of the new Falcon 7X corporate jet which will be powered by three 6,100-pound thrust Pratt & Whitney PW 307A engines, which are a derivative of the successful PW 300 series already in service on other bizjets and airliners (unfortunately, these aircraft are not mentioned).
My question is about the PW 300 engine. I find it very interesting to learn that a jet engine is being used on both bizjets & airliners. Mainly because of the difference in weight between the two types of aircraft.
Does someone out there know what bizjets & airliners are using the PW 300 engines? Also, how much thrust do these engines create?
Logic tells me that the size of these bizjets & airliners must be similar if they use the same engine. Perhaps we're talking about the larger Gulfstreams, Global Express's, and Challenger bizjets and the smaller Canadair Regional Jets & Embraer ERJ 145 short range regional airliners. Just a guess.
Any help is appreciated.
