I once got to do a short VNY-SNA hop in one (there was (still is?) a Pilatus-approved MX facility at SNA).
They are really very similar to a King Air 200/300 in size, except that they've got the forward pax door (and the head is up front by the cockpit) and the rear cargo door (few King Air's have the cargo door mod; not even sure if that's a factory option or just an STC).
I can tell you that not setting the rudder trim for takeoff can make your leg tired VERY fast -- there's a LOT of torque happening out there on the nose!
If I needed something to carry a number of people a good distance, and wanted to be able to confidently operate out of 1800' strips, the PC-12 would be my choice.
Of course, me being more the speed freak, I'd probably sacrifice range for speed and get a CJ525
