Sun Jun 30, 2002 5:23 am

Im 6 foot 3 and I am currently training in a tomahawk. I fit in the tomahawk with no problems at all. What will be the case with the C 150/152.

I fly the C152 all the time and I think that it will definitely be a tight fit for you. I have a friend that flies 172's because he says that he can't fit into a 152 due to height problems and I would say that he is no taller than 6' 2" or 6' 3". You will probably just have to go down to the FBO and see.

I'm 6'1, have to make sure the seat is all the way back, but otherwise its not too big of a deal. I'd just go over to the local airport if I were you and find one to sit in (make sure you have the owner's permission Big grin). That would be the best way to judge...

I'm also 6'3" and I flew a C152 no problem. I'm also pretty heavy, and that was more of an issue!  Big grin Big grin

If you a smaller build for a 6'3" then you shouldn't have much of a problem. But if you are of a heavier build you will run into W&B issues, and it probally won't be comfortable.
At worst, you screw up and die.

I'm 6'3" and now I fly the 152. I learned and got my ppl on a C-172. The university I'm at uses 152's for cross country time needed for the commercial certificate. I'll say this, going from the 172 to the 152 was a definite change in size, but yeah I fit and it's not bad.

Just like everyone else I am also 6'3". I earned my PPL in Diamond Aircraft's Katana. That was a little tight for me on long cross-countries. The seat doesn't move because the rudder pedals are ajustable.

There should be plenty of room for you in most trainers.

No dramas at all, Im 6'3 and never have had a problem. Nor is there lack of comfort. I did all my ab initio on 152s and recently completed my aerobatics rating. Weight restriction arent really an issue either. Most 152s have all currently had there flight manuals changed and there MTOW increased by about 60kgs.

I stand a little over 6' 2" and I train in the 172 just because it would be a little difficult for me to move around, particularly because I have long legs and my head would be up against the cieling.

I have a 6'2" student and he barely fits, but it's worked.

we have a cfi at my school who is 6'5" and 225 lbs of lean muscle - he flies the 152 all the time w/ students of various sizes. just find a cfi who's size won't kill your weight & balance and have at it!

I reckon you'd fit, extra visibility if you're nice 'n tall! My instructor is just a little lady, she has to sit on a cushion to see over the dash.  Laugh out loud

Hmm, I'm 6'7". what is an aircraft that I can train on? I don't expect to be comfortable per se, but I need to be able to fit without my knees hitting the flight controls.
Firings, if well done, are good for employee morale.
