CFM56 Start-up Question

Tue Jul 23, 2002 1:15 am

I was wondering why don't you hear any start-up noise on the flightdeck of an Airbus A320 (equipped with CFM56) and on the B737NG you can clearly hear the start-up noise?

Thanks in advance

I don't know about you...but I can hear ( and feel ) engine start-ups on both types from the cockpit with the MED and cockpit doors/windows shut.

Probably depends mostly upon what "startup noise" you think you are hearing.
