Frequency During Explosion Of TWA800?

Sat Aug 24, 2002 1:33 am

What was the frequency of that downed airliner? It was probably New York Center but I wish to know the exact freq. Thanks.

I believe it's Boston Center on 124.52. It covers the ocean area south of long island and most european departures from JFK will be cleared to Nantucket VOR by this station.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if they had changed the frequency since the tragedy

It has something to do with a ("scheduled") medical situation on board the a/c, such as transporting a patient for medical treatment etc.

According to the transcript that LZ-TLT was kind enough to link, they were on Boston Center 132.3 (at 20:23:37 through 20:23:44)
