Compass Variation/deviation Mnemonics - Rude Ones?

Mon Sep 02, 2002 3:41 am

Just a quick question...

I was reading the PPL Navigation book, and it explains the method for correcting deviation and variation.

True +/- Variation = Magnetic +/-Deviation = Compass

The mnemonic goes: Cadbury's Dairy Milk Very Tasty.

...which is fine and dandy...

It also says that there are several other mnemonics for remembering the formula "none of which are printable".

So I was wondering. What are the unprintable ones??? (use *** where appropriate). Any more funny ones out there for other cockpit procedures?

Thanks!!!

Ben.

East is least (subtract), West is best (add).

Modern navigation has changed everything. The PPL handbook, latest edition, now says:

East is least and best is west?
