Basic Maintenance

Fri Jan 24, 2003 3:58 pm

What is basic Maintenance in Aeronautics. Let's say a biz jet for example, what would it be, topping oil and hydraulic fluids on a regular? What is needed to be changed or looked at after how many hours?

Airliners have a primary check specified. This check is often a daily inspection that includes things like tire condition, engine oil quantity, brake wear check, external checks (dents, scratches, holes) and many system tests.

The complexity and time it takes varies widely but all are designed to address the basic everyday wear and tear items as well as the general airworthiness of the aircraft as a whole without going into detailed checks of unrequired , non-essential and non-critical systems.
