LHR ATC Question

What is "Director" area of control in London Heathrow? Does such a designation exist anywhere else?

Just my guess, but I believe he'd be a approach/departure controller. The position is just called "director"

Actually his callsign is Director.

Director is used for all traffic inbound before switching over to LHR tower.

There is also a "Gatwick Director"
