Autothrottle/FBW On ERJ?

Tue Feb 18, 2003 10:46 am

Hi all-

I hear tell that the CRJ has no autothrottle, and the new EMB 170/75/90/95 advertise that they do.

Does the existing ERJ have autothrottle?

Also the new EMB jets are FBW as well. Are the current ERJs?

Thanks for the indulgence.

ERJ-135/140/145 are not fly by wire, nor do they have autothrottle. They are regional airliner type aircraft of 37-50 seat capacity, but are still more sophisticated than older B737 and DC-9/MD-80 aircraft.

Hmm. Then the new EMB 170 thru 195 really will be a very sophisticated plane in comparison to existing regional jets.

It'll have a pretty big leg up on the CRJ700 and 900 too.

An autothrottle will be certified on the CRJ (100/200) very soon...within weeks.

It will be available as a retrofit for now.
