Pilots On CO 757/762

Mon Mar 03, 2003 4:02 am

I was just wondering if the pilots for CO 757s are also qualified to fly their 762s? Kinda like pilots can qualify for both 319/320 or 737-700/737-800? Thanks for any replies.

Yes they can. Pilots qwual on the B757-200 can fly the -300, B767-200 and -400. There are of course short differences courses.

Thanks...so 757 pilots can qualify on the 767-400 as well? Even though their cockpits are different?

The 764 can simulate the analog guages on its digital displays, making it fairly similiar to the older 76s and 75s, the same way the 73NG can simulate a 737 classic cockpit.

Continental 757/767 pilots can fly every 757-200/-300 and 767-200/-400 in the fleet.

Last thing I read, however, is that Delta 757/767 pilots can't fly the 767-400, so there's a different pilot group for the -400.

And there are two Continental 737 pilot groups. One for the 737-300/-500/-700/-800 and a different one for the 737-900.

I'm not too sure about this, correct me if I'm wrong.

I would think the grouping for CO would be

For the 737: 300/500 and 700/800/900

And one pilot group for 757/767-200,400.

Is this accurate?

How about for United and American?

Thanks Cdfmxtech!

So there's only one pilot group for ALL Continental 737s, is that correct?

That is correct.
A 737 pilot is a 737-ALL pilot.

AA B757/767 common type rating.
AA B737-800 single type rating (only model we have).

FYI, Continental's 767-200's were delivered with 767-400 style glass cockpits.

Flygga, are you sure about that? I thought 777-style flight deck 762/763 were not in production yet.

No they weren't.
The B767-200 has the same style flightdeck as older 767-200/300s. There are no LCD displays.

FYI, Continental's 767-200's were delivered with 767-400 style glass cockpits. I don't know where this egg came from, but it is rotten.

CO 762s came dressed as a fat 757. The 764 came dressed as a thin 777. There is NO, and I mean NO Glass cockpit in the 762. I mean, it has CRTs if that is what you mean, but the 762 is not digital.

But once CO had the 762 production line reopened, the interiors were 777 style, no?

yes, the CO 762s have the 777 style interiors. I flew on it twice, SFO-IAH-SFO in 2001.

The B767-400, does NOT have round gauges on the display panels as we do on the B737 NGs.

The Crews on in the B757 fleet fly all 4 airplanes, and the crews in the B737 fleet fly all of those types.
