Hi all,
Any idea for the incident at FRA with a Q400 of Tyrolean probably during Jan 2003? The flight was inbound SLZ. Q400 grounded for tests and now the flight operated by F-70.

It lost one wheel of the right main gear, but it wasn't discovered until the aircraft landed. It was only one incident in a row of incidents, and AUA has set up a 10-point plan in order to improve the reliability of the Q400s, until the problems are solved AUA won't order any more Bombardier aircraft.

Broken wheel-nut is suspected to be the cause of the Dash 8 wheel separation.

Less well-publicised is the fact that eleven days later a wheel fell off a Dash 7, also during take-off. It happened to an Air Greenland flight out of Sisimiut bound for Nuuk; the aircraft diverted to Kangerlussuaq.
