What Is An Augmentor Flap And What Plans Use Them?

Mon Jun 09, 2003 1:09 pm

And can anyone post a photo of them?

Just then I thought I hada good understanding of Kruegers, slats and flaps, I ran across this term on some random site.

Any pointers to what this is? Thank you.

From what I can establish it is an experimental system used to try and keep laminar flow over the flaps:

Other systems include jet flow, such as on the An-72/74, and blown flaps that use engine bleed to augment the airflow.
