Employment At Emirates Airlines Maintenance

Fri Aug 29, 2003 9:42 pm

I was just wondering if anyone here works at Emirates Airlines in the Maintenance Department or just knows something about the Maintenance Department.

I have completed my basic training of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer here in Vancouver, BC, Canada. When i get a job here, I will be hired as an apprentice for two years and then I can apply for my license. I was planning to apply at Emirates as soon as I got my license.

I would like to know what criteria Emirates is looking for to be considered for employment. I know I can just look it up on their site but I talked to someone who worked for them and has now moved to Canada. He said it doesnt matter if you get your license here or not because they wont recognise it. He basically said i could go there right now and find work as an apprentice. I dont want to waste two years just to realise I have to start from scratch in Dubai.

I just want to know if that is true.

Any kind of information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
