Im new in this forum, but been round on the other forums for a while. Just wondered if there are any pilots who fly into LHR or any of the other London airports, and what their thoughts were. Do you find it stressful, or too busy? Is it a "nice" one to be rostered to?
What equipment do you fly to the airport? Do you find the noise abatement procedures a pain in the ass? Ever had to go around? Ever had to wait ages for a gate? What about runway 9 arrivals then crossing the active departures runway to get to Terminal 4 (and 5) - is that a pain in the ass too?
Just wondering, as I live under the flightpath, and have always wondered what you guys think about London - I would have thought it would be a nightmare with the complicated, busy approach, differing approaches, and few runways. Cant be fun having ATC stick you right up the ass of another plane in front. And i noticed a few times some crosswinds when aircraft are on short finals for 27 - is that a particular problem?
Sorry to bombard you guys with questions - im just curious (and very jellous).
