Maybe this is a dumb question, but here goes. I was flying enroute from CYFD to CYOS on Monday and monitoring 126.7 when I heard a JetsGo flight that had just departed YYZ
request the current weather in YYC
. This struck me as odd as I'd never heard a commercial branded airline flight do this before. Admittedly I don't sit around monitoring the FSS station for kicks all the time so maybe this happens a lot, but I would have thought that JetsGo dispatch would have given them the current info before they even departed YYZ
or they would have had some sort of company channel to get it from rather than use the method they did. Not that I have a problem with what they did of course, I just thought it was odd, does anyone know if this is normal for a pseudo major commercial operation?
