B737 Nose Gear Door Optng Mechanism

Mon Oct 20, 2003 3:45 pm

Why was the operating mechanism of the Nose Wheel well doors changed from the B737-200s to the rest of the models produced thereafter. What was the reason.
The door actuating mechanism was linked differently.

I know this is an old post, but can you post some pictures of the difference? The change must have been initiated by some kind of service issue which resulted in the engineering change.

May not be related but - I do know that the NLG on the -300 and later models was lengthened to provide additional ground clearance at the engine inlets.

www.b737.org.uk has some pix but they appear to be the mechanism for the smaller doors, not the main doors.
