Technical Query About Ticketing.

Mon Jan 05, 2004 2:28 am

You know how sometimes you get these offers through credit cards?

And they come with a "free roundtrip" to wherever...

well, let's say you get one of these ticket vouchers and book your tickets...

usually what class of service are they for? (for example, J, F, etc)

And are they typically able to be upgraded?

Are these types of tickets frowned upon by reservations agents?

Just wondering what people of the industry think about them and their pros/cons.

thanks for your thoughts, mirrodie

since no one has tried to answer your question, I'll take a stab at it.

I think these "reward" tickets are usually for coach only, and I don't believe they're upgradable (unless maybe you want to use up more miles). And they're usually blocked out during holiday periods.

My travel agent has told me that these coupons come with some many restrictions that he's never been able to successfully use one for a customer of his. He was referring, in particular ,to the Delta Companion ticket that comes with the Amex Skymiles card.
