I wanted take this opportunity to, once again, thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers for the loss of my father. The thread was locked before I could thank you all. Your kind words and prayers have definitely made a tough time more bearable. Again, thank you all.

Thank You - My Dad

The thread was also locked before I could pay my condolences. I've been out of town and school has been kind of crazy so I haven't really been on in awhile. I'm terribly sorry to hear of your loss Jetguy. My heart goes out to you and your family and your father is in my prayers.

I hadn't seen the original thread, but found out about it through the "Post deletion" thread in Site related...

Jetguy, even though we've never met or talked, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy and express my condolences: losing a family member is one of the hardest things that can happen to you, and I wish you and your family all the strenght that you need.

You were fortunate in being able to say goodbye to him.

With my expression of deepest sympathy,
Smile - it confuses people!

I wished they had not closed the thread, but my prayers and deepest simpathy are with you and your family right now. Your dad sounded like an incredible guy that gave you a wonderful gift in flight and many good memories as a result. Thank you for sharing this gift and passion with all of us as well.

In support for words of sympathy, and in remembering those "who fly West"...
I appreciate "they" let you open, and do not delete, nor lock this one thread.
What is this, whatever A.Net's Rule 15...? Your dad is no longer here.
We are in aviation, a large family, supporting each other through grief, and hard times.
I remember the fly-by when my dad died in the 1970s... Pilot in WW-2 and Korea...
I also owe my aviation career to him. He spanked my butts often, strict education. That worked.
He would ground me for the week end because I ditched school to go to the airport see planes.
But he made sure that I got my weekly flight training...
Happy contrails - even "flying West..."

Sorry to hear about your loss, my Dad passed away several years ago and to this day I still think about him and wish I had longer time to have spent with him.
