Next time you fly on an airline, go to the cockpit and ask them for that kind of stuff. Usually they'll just pull it out of the trash anyway, it's not used again.

Or, did you want more route type information? Like what a typical route is between two airports. Myself and many others on that forum can find that for you.

What in particular are you looking for?

For the US, the closest thing I can think of would be the preferred routes section in the Airport/Facility Directory. This is an FAA publication, which I cant seem to find online, but you can order one if you want from Sportys. They dont change too often, so buying it once should suit you just fine. However the problem is that they are sold by region, so if you want the entire US, you must buy multiple.

http://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/charts/afd.cfm

What is probably better and cheaper to use are the online standard instrument departure (SIDs) procedures and standard terminal arrival procedures (STARs). This is what the airliners use to get in and out of busy areas like Chicago and New York. You can get those from here:

http://avn.faa.gov/index.asp?xml=naco/online/d_tpp

You can get airport diagrams from the same website and its all accurate and free.

Happy Simming!

Goboeing, typical routing between 2 airports will do fine - its just so i can recreate an actual flight!! - Transatlantic and Transpacific flights mainly.

I do know that say LHR - LAX flights use the far north of the Atlantic while LAX - LHR they travel a bit further south to catch the Jetstream.

I just need the routes they commonly use.

Thanks

Name some other routes and I will look them up. Also, there's a NOTAM website run by the US DOT or something like that which shows the NAT tracks for each day. I will look for that.

OK Here goes!!

SIN-EWR and EWR-SIN
SIN-LAX and LAX-SIN
LHR-LAX and LAX-LHR
MAN-IAD and IAD-MAN
MAN-ORD and ORD-MAN
MAN-SIN and SIN-MAN
LHR-GRU and GRU-LHR

I think that will do for now.

Thanks for your help,

Lee

Unfortunately the track or coordinates isn't showing for this one, but you can see where it goes after YQX to get to LAX:

EGLL..YQL.J540.MLP.J537.REO.J7.FIM.SADDE6.KLAX

This one goes eastbound to LHR and is north of the tracks:

KLAX.LOOP4.DAG.J100.NORRA.J107.DPR..VBI.SCAK.FASSA..LOPVI..
PEPKI..6000N/06000W..6100N/05000W..6100N/04000W..
6100N/03000W..6000N/02000W..ERAKA.UP58.ETSOM.UP58.SUPIT.
UN590.GOW.UN615.LOVEL.N615.HON..EGLL

The NAT tracks today:
http://www.natroutes.glideslope.de/html/nats.php3

JFK to LHR:

KJFK.BETTE3.BETTE..ACK..TUSKY.N91B.CYMON.NATX.NIBOG.NATX.NURSI.
UN551.BEL.UL10.HON.BNN2A.EGLL

I will check back later to see if the ones to and from MAN, ORD, and IAD are up.

Nick

You might like to try the http://www.avsim.com Flightplan forum. There's heaps of them plus you could post your request!

Happy flying

Check out the VATSIM www.vatsim.net ARTCC websites. Many of them have preferred routes, perfect for FS.

Another route to go is get the program FSBuild 2.0 at http://www.fsbuild.com This is a payware program but I use it every day in FS2004 to plan my flight plans. Over 90% of the flights that I fly already have the preferred route and sometimes severe weather routes. It is well worth the purchase and I would never fly a day without it.

Hey, try www.fboweb.com this site shows all IFR aircraft at the current time in america including, flight plan, eta, airspeed, possition, height. Maybe you can base a flight on this. Also try and get your hands on an FAA IFR High Alt Chart. As this shows all flight routes/lanes (DME, VOR, etc) over america so you could use this to plot your flight. As to old flight plans unless you ask a pilot for one, there forgotten about. IFR plans expire soon after the flight has ended.

As Goboeing said, going up to the flightdeck and asking for one is always worth a try. If they say no, so what? I got a very nice USAirways flight plan that way...

fltplan.com! It's where I go to find routes! Go to the new route button on the side bar, type in the ICAOs and get a list of routes. It also recomends Flight Level and speed based on your aircraft.

I use it when i fly my PSS A320 on flight sim!

Or you could try this flight tracking website

www.fboweb.com

If you know the airlines flight number then you could be able to track it by the moving map and plus on the right side of that they have a menu side bar were you could actually view the flight plan. Really cheap too, $10.00 per month. Try it.

Its the greatest flack tracking site there is.
