GE CF6 80E1 Engine Fan Specs

Sat May 29, 2004 4:31 am

Hey,

I am on the GE website and I was wondering does the A330 use two different types of GE engines? The A2 and A4? Also when it says under max diameter, is that the fan diameter of the engine or the engine itself excluding the cowling?

Thanks

The A330 can use all variants of the CF6-80E1. There are 3 currently, the A2, A3, and A4.

The diameter is usually the fan diameter, the fan is the widest part, and I don't believe their numbers include the cowling, but they may include the fan stator case/containment unit.
