How sucessful are the B737-200 converted Freighters.Im not talking of the B737-200C or B737-200QC.
But the B737-200 converted to Freighters.
What are the likely problems encountered.

There aren't too many of them around.

The -200QC's we had at AS would hold six pallets upstairs, The 727-100 would hold 8, but I understand some of -100's that where converted will hold 9.

That extra capacity did make a big difference. Add to that Airlines where retiring 727-100's before they where 737-200's so a lot more of them ended up on the conversion market. And the 727 has a lower used value then teh 737 so they are cheaper to aquire.

And then in the middle of this the FAA started to get real nervous about the certification of old airliners to freighters, which added another hurdle.

So no, I would say that the 737-200 freighter was not a success.
OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.

Not many of them are around so I wouldn't think it wasn't a very sucessful program. FedEx is looking at the -400 for replacing the 727 fleet. Rumor has it they are looking for up to 50 airframes. They would like them to be as similar as possible so to get most from one airline is their goal.
