FE On Early A300

Tue Jun 22, 2004 5:54 am

Were the early A300B2 and B4 flown by a 3 man crew or 2?

Hi,

All A300B1 and -B2s were operated by 3 man crew. What comes to -B4, I'm not totally sure. If my memory serves me right, most of the -B4 series are operated by 3 man crew. Anyway, few examples were built which are operated by only the cockpit crew of two. Airlines which operated this "special" version were Garuda, Finnair and Finnair's nowadays non-existent subsidiary KarAir. Nowadays Air Scandic flies those ex-Finnair machines.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

Smooth Landings,
FinnWings

The A300 FFCC was available on all aircraft beginning in 1983.

FinnWings is correct,
All B1, B2 and B4-200 aircraft have a 3-crew flighdeck with an Flight Engineer, except for some late-model aircraft built for Garuda and KarAir with a forward facing flightdeck.

I believe Air Scandic are now the only airline operating the A300B4-200FF.
