Operating Costs: 328 VS. 328JET?

Tue Jul 27, 2004 1:10 am

How do the operating costs differ between the Dornier 328 and the Dornier 328JET, on say a route like MKE-GRR?

Does anyone know? I'd really like to myself...

If no one knows, does anyone know how to find out?

The numbers above are bogus! The DOC represented above were taken from marketing propaganda when Dornier was still solvent. Great Plains operated both aircraft and we saw the 328-100 operating about $900-1000 (summer) and the 328-300 about $3800-4200.

That’s extreme and you may not believe me but the PW306B engines are a huge pile of smoking shit!!

LMAO Big grin

So the jet, dispute a few advantages over the prop, can be up to 3x more expensive to run?

Aren't these hourly figures entirely dependent on the length of the route?

Along the same line, the 328JET would take less time to operate any given route.

Bogus my ass.

June 04 Form 41 data: Avg. (Skyway and ACA) $1128 DOC/Blk HR. for the 328Jet

If I could upload a pdf file you'd look pretty damn stupid right now.

PW has a fix for the engines and it's being dealt with right now. The new aircraft will not exhibit the problem.

And people wonder why Boeing didn't go for PW on the 7E7... Between the 328 and the 318, PW hasn't done so well on developing new engines lately. Derivatives and Turboprops, they do well, but type specific not to well.
