GE90 Low Pressure Turbine Vane Improv. Helps Genx?

Sat Jul 31, 2004 4:06 am

So the recent improvements to the GE90-110/115 low pressure turbine vanes give the engine a 0.8% improvement in specific fuel consumption. Would the GENX see a commensurate improvement, and thus we would see additional 7E7 savings?

maybe, just maybe, this improvement to the GE90 is a result of the follow up research that was made in regard to next generations of engines(aka GENX) and found to be easily applicable to the current design
