Question On The An-124/An-225/C-5

Mon Aug 09, 2004 2:05 am

Many of you know how the above aircraft and others have four nosewheels. Well, I was wondering, how are these nosewheels steered? Are they on two oleos in pairs of two, on one oleo, or are they locked forward? This has been bugging me for a few days now and I would appreciate an answer.

Assuming that "oleo" means strut or the like, then I believe the C5 is on one oleo (all 4 wheels turn together), while the Antonovs have two oleos, in pairs of two.

I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

Vik,
Thank you for your answer, I am surprised that it took 141 views to get an answer! But, at least someone finally was able to answer my question on the 4-wheel nosegear.
