What are the fastest turboprop twins that are currently in use by airlines?

I think that the SAAB 2000 offers close to jet-like speeds for a turboprop.

You're forgetting about the Piaggio P.180. 395 knots and 41,000 feet.  Smile

No and besides the Piaggio is slow.

If you want speed in a Buisness Turboprop look for a Cheyenne 400.

Actually, the P.180 is the fastest turboprop in the world. The Cheyenne 400 cruises at around 340 kts. If the Piaggio is slow, then the Cheyenne is snails pace.

Officially max Cruise on the Piaggiao is 348 and on the -400 is 325.

But......

I note that Hatzell if memory serves is working on a five blade conversion for the -400.....rumor has it that it will kick the airplane up by 50kts.

I'm gonna have to call BS on that one. I assume that we are talking KIAS Vmo. The airframe is the limiting factor there with respect to Vmo so don't expect the Cheyenne 400 to get any faster. But...a new prop can increase efficiency so that higher cruise speeds can be realized.

Of course nobody cruises at the ASL Vmo figures so chances are that a new prop design can add some speed, but not to that Vmo figure which looks like an ISA value.

Someone said the P.180 was the fastest turboprop in the world. They should define better, because the P-3 Orion, and Bear bomber are faster. (Although each has 4 engines)

I think the Saab 2000 can cruise at 370 knots true airspeed, can't think of a faster airline twin turboprop.
