I wanted to compare the capacity of the A300/ 767-300 and the 767-400.
But I got a little confused, since everywhere I see smth different.
I always like to compare with the most pax available in a plane, to see the entire difference.
I know, the A300 is 54 meters long and can take 8 abreast. If you want an all economy seating you can get up to 296 seats (got it from Airbus.com). But I know, you can have the A300 with a 9 abreast configuration, so if you just add one more seat to every aisle, you can get up to 340 seats.
Now, the 767 is narrower then the A300, but it is about the same length (55 meters). Since it is narrower, it can only have a maximum of 8 abreast. now, common sense would tell you, that the 767 cant take as much as the A300! But on Boeing.com it sais, the 763 can take up to 350 in economy? How on earth is that possible, due to the narrower fuselage?
Thanks for any replies!
