737NG/BBJ Flap Question On Takeoff

Mon Mar 28, 2005 12:44 pm

I'm not very familiar with how flaps work, so please forgive me on that part, but I had a couple of questions I was curious about.

I noticed that the BBJ at max. takeoff weight of 171,000lbs can takeoff from a runway at sea level in about 7,750ft (no flaps). When the altitude is increased to +2,000 and flaps set to 15, it needs about 8,100ft of runway.

With the shorter runway at NRT being ~7,000 ft. long, would it be possible for the BBJ at max. takeoff weight to clear the end of the runway if a takeoff was done with flaps at 15?
