Mon Aug 01, 2005 3:15 pm

This was posted, and unanswered, by a member on the Yahoo 777 group:
Then he sayed that the VARIG 777s are modified with some 767 rudder parts to cope with some strong crosswinds occuring on some airports in Brasil!

I don't know of the specific part, but, if the parts are the same part number, they should be interchangable between aircraft.

This is fairly common on avionics equipment, less so on aircraft systems, but possible.

I know B757/B767 have all kinds of parts that are effective for each other.

If I'm not mistaken, the 777 actually shares quite a few parts with the 757/767...after all, Section 41 is largely similar in the 767 and 777.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that there are some parts that are common across the entire Boeing fleet (other than nuts, bolts and rivets).

Hi!
Thanks ConcordeBoy for fwd this msg  Wink

But he also said, that those number of things are quite big, so that they aren't "normal" 777s like those from UU,AF,... .
So, not just interline-parts-of-Boeing-planes.

Jan
