B752 LE Slat Rotary Actuator O'load Indicator Pin

Anyone with Information on the Red Overload Indicator pins on the LE Slat Rotary Actuator.What circumstamces causes its indication & how is it reset.

They are simply pushed in and they usually indicate a bad or underserviced actuator. Sometimes inadequate lubrication of the slat tracks and rollers is the culprit.

Just push it in and determine the cause of the overload. As stated, it can be a bad actuator or more likely, the rollers and tracks are getting dry.

One thing to keep in mind, the overload could have been caused by any of the system parts anywhere downstream of the popped pin. If you have the older magnetically latched type it might be simply a firmer than normal landing.

Every company has adopted their own procedures for dealing with the pins being popped from "just push it in" to a complete friction/torque check and everything in between. Make sure your company doesn't have some sort of monitoring requirement before you just sign it off.

My Company might get B752SFs next year,So was doing some Advanced Studies.So many doubts keep creeping up.So I might have a lot more questions on the B752s in the next year until I get my notes or work Practically on the Bird  Smile
