CRJ 12 Year Old Rule?

Wed Aug 31, 2005 4:19 am

When I flew the CRJ recently, my sister was asked both ways if she was at least 12. What is the reason for this? I know you have to be 15 to sit in an exit row...but 12???

Thanks,
EK

It has nothing to do with the plane. I think this was an airline rule.

Its going to be an FAA Rule, but the airlines might set higher for a higher safety margin.

First I've heard of this; of course, I don't work passenger service.  duck

It has to do with weight. Children ages 2 to 12 can be counted at as a child for weight. Over twelve has to be counted as an adult.
