Baggage Amount Per Container?

Thu Nov 24, 2005 11:30 pm

The question may speak for itself. The baggage of how many pax can be taken in a LD-3, LD-2 and LD-3/46 container ? I´m asking just for routes with a normal baggage amount, not ones like LAX-MNL. A split into the different classes and distance of flights would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Exceptions confirm the rule.

I'v seen ramp agents determined to beat this with various igloos etc.

But 50 sounds right to me

OK, the 50 is a rule of thumb, but I have personally gotten far more than 50 and sometimes far less than 50. It comes down to baggage size, weight, and how good you can stack. It will take a little bit of time, but properly stacking the Containers is critical, especially on high cargo rev flights. So you maximize loads.
