I am not trying to flame anyone or question someones integrity here. You CANNOT hold a type rating in any helicopter. They are all the same no matter what engine, class, or type. So how do you hold a type rating in MD500, R22 and R44? I know this because I am rated in helicopters.
Finally, i can understand that some choose to hold as many ratings as they can for braggin rights. Usually these pilots are in excess of 40 years old however, I do question your ability to have recieved training and qualification in as many airframes as you have. Some of those airframes require WEEKS of schooling to become qualified as a SIC, much less a PIC.
I am by no means an authority on the process, but I do know that with a complex piece of equipment such as a helicopter, you just do not hop around from airframe to airfram without WEEKS of training. Hence why even a 35 year old would be very hard pressed to holding that many aircraft quals.
Please Help Me Understand.
GOT a little lost on this. I thought 2H4 was saying this was his certificate. I think i misread here. If this is SLAMCLICK, then i TRUELY can see where he can hold that many.. You never lose what you lean how to fly. You can go UNCURRENT, but still hold the rating or aircraft qualification. You just need to take a check ride for proficiency then you are current in that airframe.
Apologies to the stabbing remark toward 2H4, I misread the posts.
