Cabin Pressure Problems

Thu May 04, 2006 11:07 pm

For an investigation I appreciate any information on proved or suspected cabin pressure problems , i.e. sudden decompression, for the MD 11 or any other aircraft - internet links etc would be helpful.
Google or so, NTSB and FAA related site were not successful ...

Hey there,
Check out this list at:

Also, in 1973 a DC-10 National Airlines aircraft had an in-flight engine failure, resulting in debris colliding with the aircraft's body, resulting in a decompression. One person was lost through the window.

It was 1981, flying CPH - ARN on an Interflug Tu-134 (because SAS was on strike - yes, SAS also went on strike a quarter century ago, SAS should have waited five or ten years celebrating their 50th anniversary).

During the whole flight cabin pressure went crazily up and down. I had pain in my ears for three weeks afterwards.

No link, the Internet hadn't been invented yet.

I went home on a Yugoslavian DC-9. Wonderful bird! Nice flight, even if the captain had a distinct smell of whiskey. Hell, what does a captain have a co-pilot for?

information on proved or suspected cabin pressure problems

Do you want to know reasons for pressure problems or what happens to pax or emergency handling or events were it happened???
Otherwise check the Helios story over Athens. The reason is known though. F.... switch  Angry
