Conditioned Air Ground Connector Installation B752

Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:01 am

During the Replacement of the Ground Air Connector on the B752.If the Spacer Assy is removed. The Gasket is replaced with Adhesive BAC5010, Type 60 side up against the Spacer.
The AMM says to Let the adhesive cure for at least 24 hours at between 65 degF and 100degF, with a minimum relative humidity of 20 percent.

Does that mean the Job would need to be held up for 24 hrs.Seems difficult to Believe.

Anyone done this Job practically.
Ref 21-21-02 AMM

Hawk,

Some jobs do require that you wait the full cure time for the prescribed sealant/adhesive. Our engineering department has come up with an approved list of alternates for most of the sealants in our AMM's. This list was made up for 2 reasons: 1)availability of sealants, 2)cure time reduction.

But, Boeing, McBoeing and Airbus have some sealants/adhesives to which they will allow no alternates. I seem to recall an adhesive on the B767 TR that has a 24 hour cure that we could not get away from.

And no, I can't get you the document. It was produced in house for our use only.
When seconds count...the police are minutes away.
