What Is This On The Archer?

Sat Jul 15, 2006 4:16 am

Look just above the first W.
I have this on an Archer that I fly and as far as I can tell, after reading the POH, is that it is an air outlet. Can anyone confirm this?

Hard to tell in that pic....is it a metal tube sticking out? If so, it might be the OAT probe.

It's the arrow for the Archer's bow. Big grin

It might be an air inlet (to ventilate the cabin)?
The glass isn't half empty, or half full, it's twice as big as it needs to be.

I got that from the heating ventilation page in the POH but it was shaped another way I guess I am leaning toward temp probe

Ok thanks.
The Archer I fly is older and does not have the Temp right there on the side. It has an electronic one with EGT/Temp/CHT. So would that side probe be the one that it is receiving the temperature from?

Yep. However it may not be providing any information to your modified installation. You would have to check the drawing that came with the STC to know how it is supposed to be connected. (Notice I said 'supposed"?)

Yup, its the OAT probe. The arrows that I fly have it coming out of the upper windscreen  Smile
