TU154M Cockpit Layout Question

Wed Aug 02, 2006 12:46 am

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1087183/M/

Can someone tell me in the cockpit of this Tu-154M where the gear and flap handles are located? I have wondered this for awhile and have yet to locate them.

< WAG >
Could the big black thing to the left of the thrust levers be the flap lever? The markings on the metal base seem appropriate.

The gear lever could be the black thing on the vertical panel ahead of the two orange handles.

My guess is the orange handles have to do with the parking brake.

The red handles are the parking breaks, the big huge lever is the spoilers and the flaps and gear are located on the overhead panel.

In this picture, the flap lever/selector is in the middle, and the gear is to the right on the bottom of the panel.

Hope this helps!

A friend of mine who was a fighter pilot and airline pilot used to say of military airplanes:

"If it is ugly it's British.
If it is weird it is French.
If it is ugly and weird it is Russian."

Hey! I'm only telling you what HE said!  duck

Check out those unsheilded fans on the overhead panel. What if the pilots were reaching for the gear lever and a small bump pushes his hand/fingers into the fan? Ouch!  Wow!

The fan blades are probably made of plastic.

I'm hoping that's in the "but... but..." category rather than the "oh, wait..." category.  Smile

How does that colour help in visibility inside the Cockpit.
