How To Load A Multi-destination Flight?

Thu Nov 23, 2006 3:25 am

Hi everyone.

I'm wondering what special things have to be considered when loading a flight with more than one destination.

For example LHR-GRU-EZE

I guess the baggage of both destinations has to be split to front and back cargo hold to keep the plane in balance after the stop.

Are there special systems how the cointainers should be distibuted?

Thanks
Tobi

Well, it would be nice to have the first off stuff be the last on and nearest the cargo door. Depending upon the load and type of plane, this might allow for a quick turnaround. However, on some planes, it might be necessary to offload all of the cargo and reload the through containers due to the requirements of balance on the next departure. You cannot just make a general statement here.
